Leak Spotters Solutions – Case Studies
PROBLEM: The water meter at the front of the house was spinning rapidly, but nothing was being used in the house. The meter indicated 6 litres of water was being lost every minute.
SOLUTION: Leak Spotters’ technician used his sonar leak detector to listen for and hear the position of the leak in the water pipe.
A small hole was dug in the ground and the leaking piece of pipe was replaced. The ground was returned to a tidy condition.
TESTIMONIAL ‘ Leak Spotters arrived the day I phoned them. They quickly found the leak with no digging and then only a small hole was necessary to fix the pipe. They did it all! And you could hardly see where they had dug. A great job’.

PROBLEM: A pool was dropping 10cm every few days. The owners had to fill the pool up every few days, to keep it in operating order. This used approximately 2,000 litres of water every time!
SOLUTION The Leak Spotters technician pressure tested the inlet and outlet water pipes and found there was a leak in the return pipework. With the Sonar detection equipment he was able to pinpoint the location of the leak. As the pipe was under concrete he arranged for it to be cut out and repaired after the leak was fixed.
TESTIMONIAL We were worried about the cost of continually filling our pool up so called in Leak Spotters to investigate it. They arrived promptly the next day and found the leak and repaired it. I didn’t envy them working in the cold water – it was winter! But they were very professional, knew what they were doing and repaired the problem in no time at all. Definitely recommend them to anyone.

PROBLEM: A shower was leaking water out of the cubicle and wetting the skirting and wall in the bedroom wardrobe next door
SOLUTION The Leak Spotter technician quickly discovered the water was not coming from a leaking pipe or tap, with his high tech sonar equipment. In fact the shower water was escaping through the base tiles due to a waterproofing problem.. This needed an’ over the tiles waterproof’. With the shower left dry for 24 hours, the Leak Spotter technician came in, prepared the shower cubicle thoroughly and applied a clear, waterproof sealant over the tiles. Left to dry for 24 hours the shower cubicle was ready to use, mould resistant and looking like new again.
TESTIMONIAL: Our shower leak was causing clothes and shoes in our wardrobe to go mouldy! We were referred to Leak Spotters from a friend and they arrived the next day, on time. They quickly found the shower needed resealing – it was 10 years old, but still in good condition – so they explained clearly what could be done and how much it would cost. We decided this option was far cheaper than pulling all the tiles off, waterproofing under the tiles and then fitting new tiles. The job was done 2 days later, once it was thoroughly dry and hasn’t leaked since. And it stays cleaner for longer! Might get them to do the main shower, before it starts to leak.
